Gorilla baby Watch at Woodland Park Zoo
Nadiri is about to be a first-time mom and zookeepers at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo are hoping the lowland gorilla will be a better parent than her own mother who didn’t accept the newborn.
When Nadiri was born in 1996, complications caused zookeepers to call in doctors from Swedish Hospital to help suction her out. Her mom was anesthetized and traumatized and in no condition to care for her newborn. Her dad died of a heart attack two weeks later, leaving the little one basically orphaned.
Thursday is the due date for a first-time gorilla mom at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo who was rejected by her mother at birth.
