Angry Gorilla Cracks Window
What would you do if a Gorilla got angry? Remember, he is huge and in a temper he can really damage walls and hurt others. Many people believe Gorillas hunt other animals for food, but Gorillas are generally herbivores. They usually eat vegetation such as wild celery, shoots, roots, fruit, tree bark and tree pulp, but they have been known to eat small animals and insects. A male can eat up to 40 lbs. (18 kg) of vegetation each day.
A family visiting the Henry Doorly Zoo in Nebraska got a taste of the wild they weren’t expecting when a 375-pound gorilla threw himself into an exhibit window, fracturing the glass. The entire incident was caught on a video that’s now been viewed more than 13 million times.According to CNN, the gorillas were particularly aggressive that day because the males seemed to be sparring for dominance. Zookeepers later explained that when the animals do this, they often pound or throw themselves against windows to prove how tough they are.Well then, mission accomplished. As soon as the glass cracked, visitors are seen scrambling for an exit. Fortunately, no one was hurt and zoo staff say there was absolutely no way the gorilla would have been able to completely break through.
